hey guys im new to the site and figured everyone on here would know whats up.. i own a 94 civic hatch with a fully fuilt d16z6 ... i did a full restoration once again this past winter.. while i had the motor out and all the other body parts off and sand blasted the engine bay me and a good buddie decided to do a full wire tuck after doing endless nights of research... usually i have no problem fixing the hatch but this one has stumped me... the motor is a d16z6 with vitara pistons and turner toy rods .. it has victor reinz full gasket kit and also a set of race bearings,4 litres of royal purple and the head is stock, other than a good cleaning from the machine shop.. back to the tuck... i had the dash out and re routed the headlight harnesses threw the front frame rails and to their natural spots.. the wires i did cut i put together then soldered them together.. after that i then used shrink tube on every one. i took my time and did one by one so their should be no reason y it shouldnt start.. also i have over 30 hours into this lol.. now that the car is repainted and all back together we brought it to the speedsport show in moncton nb last month... the car took second place but has yet to start ... ive tryed grounds, vtec selenoid, ecu,fuses, spark plugs, dizzy... etc.... the car has power but when you turn it over it doesnt try to actually start it just does like a constant start should but doesnt seem like its catching or trying to go.... also we checked the compression and it is 0, 0, 15, 10 ... this is a brand new motor that has never been started... i bought this the past winter that past by from a guy that built it for his hatch but sold the car.. please if anyone has any clues let me know so i can try them... i just put like 4 gs into it and it wont start lol also just for all those guys that like hatches that are built not bought ive had this since grade 10 and bought it for 500 bucks ha let me know what you think and hopefully we can get it fixed ... thanks Kyle Murray

id say start by checking your timing. if your not getting compression but it still tries to fire your timing is probably way off.

is it me or does the compression seem too low? and you said you have a stock head? maybe you got bent valves on 2 of your cylinders and maybe the other 2 cylinders are not sealing good enough.

Lol yes its not hard to do the test lol and the motor is brand new guys

looking at the above pics u posted i see the entire engine bay is painted check and see if your starter is properly grounded if you did all those things that you said i will try that and see what happens.

it cant be a grounding issue, the engine is turning over and has no compression. he needs to figure out why theres no compression before worrying about anything else. if i remember correctly it should be around 150psi or so.

dump some oil down into the cylinders to do the wet compression, if it still reads 0 then its your valves

Do a cylinder leakage test, im almost willing to bet the Cam timing is off

yea i would go a wet compression test to if you got no compression or very little then most likely its the valves are not seated properly or sealing.

K I'm getting it towed back to my uncles shop so we can work on it there. I should have just built my own motor instead of buying someone selses motor ... Ill figure this out and keep you all updated. Hopefully its running before the next show

nice clean engine bay, i was thinking of doing a wire tuck but every time i open my hood i'm like dam i don't want to do this -_-
