I was visiting a friend up in Northern, Ny and we decided to go to the casino on the Indian Res up there.

Well, I was driving there and we hit this patch of road that was unpaved and REALLY bad. I told my friend, wow this sucks, I really dont want to drive over this, but theres no other way to get to the casino. So, I took it really slow and got over it and in we went. We were there for a while. We got out at probably 2:30 am. We come out and were driving back to his apartment when we come to the unpaved crap again. When you entered the unpaved stuff there was a really bad drop off that you had to slow down for, unless you just wanted to destroy the front end of your car. So naturally the guy in front of me slowed down, I slowed down as well, the guy behind me however, decided he didnt want to slow down.

He destroyed me going about 55. The best part, he took off after he hit me. I tried to chase after him and get his plate # but my car wouldnt start. So I got out and tried to run after him thinking maybe I could get him because he was on the unpaved road, but no luck. Such a bad weekend for me. Now I have no car ..

Im just glad I hadnt put a lot more cash into it before it got wrecked. Only had around 800 dollars into it. But, im going to buy it back from the bank and try to sell some stuff out of it. So, if anyone needs any parts from a 5th generation CX hatchback let me know. I dont think the frame is bent but the RQP's are dented so I dont know. If theres no problem with it ill sell the car as well.

sorry to hear about it man, i had also totaled my car a while ago. Some dumb asian, and i didnt get anymoney out of it. so i started over, and now this car is way better then my other car. So keep ur head up everything will get better. And sell ur hb i got 8 bills for mine and it was totaled so. good luck

If hit in the rear, shouldnt my airbag have gone off? And if not, thats just plain ridiculous ..

Uh...no. The airbag only goes off when hit hard enough in the front.

Sorry to hear about the accident man. I would've thrown a nice big rock at the dudes windshield if he tried to speed away. Have your insurance and the police take a look at it and if the guy that hit you decides to get it fixed at a local shop they should be able to find him.

Ok somebody needs a lesson on inertia (I don't know how to spell it). When you are stopped and you get hit from the rear it will push the car forward hence making you sink back into the seat. After sinking back into your seat you might go forward in the car a little bit.

I feel your pain, last night after helping Kook on this site aka my good buddy with his mustangs tranny, I decided to jet, I left his place at like 2:30 in the morning.

I was headed home through a busy part of town but it was early in the morning so no one was around, going through a section of town where its a stop light at every block corner and when you get going with the right timing you get every green light, well thats what I was doing.

When out of nowhere, a durango ran a red light and literally slammed into me while I was just entering one of the many intersections. they went off to the side and I did about two 360's and ended up on the other road facing the opposite way I was going, they got out two girls, who claimed they had the green light and had been coming home from a club in which they had in fact been drinking. well I think all that caught up to them, I went kinda off but not to lose track of them to call the police as they did too, and to call my parents (hey im 20 but were a close family) I got off the phone and they were trying to pull there bumper off since it was hanging there.

they said they needed to park the car and get it out of the intersection and I said sure and as they pulled past me going slow, I just glanced at the LP and caught a few numbers but not the whole thing, then outta nowhere they booked for it, completely destroying there bumper and headed for the hills, well needless to say I was irate it started raining HARD and I was stuck outside.

I dont have any pics yet I have to go the tow yard in a bit. I have yet to get back with the police since last night about the whole ordeal but the police have there bumper and a pretty good description I gave them, the durango's air bags went out too, my car is TRASHED, front end gone, and when I did the 360 I hit somthing else too cause my driver rear quarter is smashed in......its totaled.

I just lowered my rex that day and took on a whole new love for it, then this happened, this morning I woke up and I couldnt get out of bed, I just got back from the doctors, just minor muscle tension and spasms. got some pain relievers.

sorry to jack your thread, had to vent, worst night of my life.

dude no reason to be so harsh, but technically he is correct, when you'r hit from behind you're pushed. which would mean your body would go back not forward. you probably bounced off the back of the seat forward, but initially you went back first. don't be an ***, take a physics class.

oh and about your car and you, that definatly sucks, for both of you, my best wishes

My Accord was totalled on 7-19 . Some lady hit me doing 35-40. Still havn't gotten a settlement from State Farm

I think you just don't remember....watch crash footage, its impossible to get hit and the rear and not get pushed into the back of your seat before you fly forward. Its simple physics, you can't argue it, PERIOD.

actually i think u didnt notice it, but u went back then forward. i believe this was the big scandal behind the kennedy assisnation (sp.). your sitting still u get hit, your car will propel forward while u are motionless u will hit the rear then then force will slam u forward trying to get your body to catch up to the car. then u will go back again. i mean come on guy, it is basic physics. you are not a part of the car thus is why u would not move forward with it. think about when u accelerate do u go forward? no u get pulled back. when u get hit in the rear it is like accelerating (only u dont mean to).
