my car stalls out after i fill up
i drive a 97 civic ex coupe....
i filled up my tank yesterday about halfway since i only had like 7 bucks on me lol... and i was driving out of the parking lot, and my car stalled out and died... i turned it off, and when i was turning it back on it wouldnt do ****... so i revved it up a bit as i turned they key and after it kinda kicked over, it ran fine... so today i filled up the rest today and put in some injector cleaner, and it was going to stall again, but i revved it up and saved it... does anyone have any idea why my car is stalling out and dying?

Fuel filter could be cloged up from letting it get close to empty to many times or the fuel pump. But thats just my OPINION.

its idling low low low at like 500 or below, and thats when it starts dying (obviously), but now my check engine light comes on-- i adjusted the idle about 2 weeks ago, because after a friend of mine port and polished my intake manifold, it got messed up... so i dont think its the idle.... but something in the fuel system is causing it to idle low.... its like being choked

I didnt know that running your tank to empty everytime was bad for the filter or pump?

That happened to me twice. I bought a new fuel filter but I'm waiting on it to happen again. Sometimes your car doesn't take into consideration how much gas is in the reserve. It's sounds dumb but it's true. You think you're filling it up but you might be over filling it. Try letting it only down past half before you fill it back up.
Check out your fuel pump. It's an easy fix but it takes a minute to actually screw you over.

So it can actually damage the pump? not just clog the filter?

ya letting it get to E all the time before you fill up isnt too great. (hear say) nothing ever happened to me yet but people say that when you let it get that low...all the dirt and **** that could be in your tank gets few through the pump and filter and clogs it up...i donno, never happened to me though...

I will tell you from experience, if you let your car run on E constantly you will end up with a cloged filter. It sucks because once it clogs you car bucks violently like you are hitting redline (hence Honda uses a fuel cut for a rev limiter)
I had this problem before my car's filter clogged and it was rather annoying. Once I replaced the filter it never happened again
