Default my car is a mut... long block ecu and dizzy questions

Hello I've done some searching.

My car turns off when it idels normal.

im getting codes

it revs on its own from 1500 to 2000.

when i drive it easy or hard, it jerks 2 times then as i give more gas it goes away. <-- thats what she said!

Im guessing cause im still running the single cam obd2 ecu.

heres my set up:

civic obd2

my block is an OBD1 B18C and i know cuz its missing the CKF senor.

I have a stamp on the head that reads 98 guessing its an obd2 head but what model GSR/B16 or what not i guess i cant find that out. from all i seached its hard to tell by eye-balling

it has a obd1 dizzy. will that effect my motor performance?

and this leave me wondering what ecu should i get!?

The ecu doesn't care which engine is in there as long as the sensors that it needs to see are correctly installed and plugged in. You could run a 1989 rotary engine using a 08 k20z ECU if u could get all the sensor values to make sense and the ecu to output fuel and ignition signals, for example.

I think there might have been some errors when plugging stuff in (lots of plugs are the same shape and will plug into the wrong sensor).

There may also have been errors rewiring the distributor for obd2 operation.

If you are running a d16y7 ECU....u cant. The y7 has a 3 wire iac. The rest of the engines have a 2 wire. If you have a non ex or si, you have to repin the harness to accept a 2 wire iac.

Get the codes and post them for more accurate diagnosis.

codes im getting is p1382 Manufacturer Control Igniton or Misfire. Ive searched but there isnt really a diagnose for this and P0135 whihc i think will clear when i swtich to the obd1 ecu.

And my car still acts up.

It revs from like 1500 to 2000 and i has like a jerk to it.

Then like is said i take of slowly it jerks twice then its fine, ill stay in gear at the same rpm lets say 5 i step on it again and jerks twice again... do i have double vtec?! i wish but really its confusing.

Im still running the p2p ecu from my vtec sohc.

i bought the jumper harness but no doner found yet for a p28

P1382 tells you that the ECU is not getting a signal from the CYP sensor inside the distributor. Getting the correct ECU and wire harnesses may be solution to this and other problems.

You'll need a P28 chipped for your specific engine set up.

as soon as i get the p28 will i have to change these wires.

i knew about the extending the vtec wire and the ones in that area... but i never read about these: the sensor on the intake tube has to be extended to the intake manifold were the fuel injectors are. is this true?
also..

The sensor in the intake tube is the IAT. You can either leave it in the intake tube or put it in the manifold. As long as it measures air temp going into the engine, it doesn't matter. If you want it in the manifold, you need to solder on the correct plug. It's a round 2 pin plug. The type of sensor that goes into the manifold is shaped differently than the one that goes into the tube.

If you have an EX, you don't have to re pin the harness to accept a 2 wire IAC. It's already 2 wire.

Do you have OBD2 injectors in there? Cuz u need OBD2 injectors with a OBD2 ECU.

You're probably getting the code you mentioned because you wired the distributor incorrectly. So check the wiring on that carefully.

Also...no, you dont have "double vtec".
