my car idles at 2000 can someone give some info
when you start the car it idles at 2000 the it will surge up and down its a jdm b16a
in a 1996 ek9 hb when i disconnect the mapp sensor vacc line it idles fine but after i do that it blows out black smoke

If ur car is running fine before and now its doing this
I could be a common problem with hondas and acuras
the throttle body has a cold start up extra air valve it breaks and u get too much air so ur car idles up and down
its the valve right under the throttle body
u can just change it (u don t have to buy a whole throttle body)

the car idles like that all the time but as it gets hotter the idle will go down to about 1800 other than that it sounds like it runs fine the idle just pisses me off the eco is a p28 with i think its called a jumper to convert it to obd1 the name on the ecu says ff works i have know clue who that is

Take off the IAC VAlve behing the Intake Manifold.
Put a laminated playing card in between the IAC and the manifold to block the IAC.
Leave Iac plugged in and reset ecu.
Your idle should never surge again but it won't idle good when cold.
Unless you raise the idle to about 900-1000, which I did.
I also took out some slack from the accelerator cable too. That was a glorious day.
Sigh, hatch is gone.
