Default my car is farting...

Ok… here’s the noise I’m getting out of my exhaust. my car is farting “puh puh”. Everything is bone stock on this car. It happens frequently when it’s cold, and than once ever other second when it’s operating temperature.

Or the start of a hole somewhere.

Maybe some Bean-o might help.

Or it could be a small missfire too. since you said it happens when it reaches temperature. Yea, that sounds more likely.

it's not an exhaust leak. i've checked every possible point of connection and burnt my hands 2 many times for it to be an air leak.

yeah... it's louder outside than inside. my car drops in idle the same time that noise hits. i recently adjust my engine valves but i doubt this was the case because it happened before touched the valves. now it's just louder.

Yea thats sounds like a missfire. Not really serrious when its idling, just annoying. Some cars eventually just do that and can be hard to fix. Sometimes you just need new plugs.

I had the same exact problem, it ran great, but starting off from a red light, or just during odd times, it'd do the same thing.

Plugs and wires, I'd recommend.

What kind of exhaust do you have?

If you have a straight pipe this sound would be normal. No resonator or cat will cause the "puh" sound. Usually the sound will be like a puh phpuh ... lil silence... puh...

Thats what I know, if you do not have a straight pipe then I dunno.

That sounds similar to a noise that I heard after I installed my msd system. Though you may not have a msd, try some heli-core ignition wires. They are a little pricey at about $80 for the msd wires, but even if it does not fix the problem you'll be upgrading to some better equipment.

check your plug wires for corrosion or rounded spots in the rubber where it should be an edge, or cracks, etc... if they look old/worn out, they USUALLY are not good.

and take the plugs out and check em out...

start with new plugs and make sure your on time. Some times if you hit a good bump or jolt the car, sounds crazy but that can mess with timing, dont ask me why.
