Default My car is 90% Ready for track day!!!

Hi all,

My car is almost ready for tracking!

On November 2nd, I'll be taking my car to Wakefield park. A 2.2km circuit.

I drive a 92' Honda Civic Si (EG5) with a D16A8 which is factory (like the ZC block)

What I have done to the car...

Bilstien suspension
Apexi WS springs (F:8kg/mm,R:4kg/mm)
ART CS High Temp Front/Rear Brake Pads
Motul 600 Brake fluids (Dot 4)
Cusco Master Cylinder Brake stopper
GAB front tower Strut bar
OEM ITR Rear Strut Bar
Hot Bits 4-2-1 Headers
Car Sound Hi flow cat
2 1/4" piping
MegaSound N1 Muffler
Short Ram Intake
Kaaz LSD
Lighten Flywheel
Heavy Duty clutch
sports steering wheel
Sparco Buckets
RPM 4 Point Harness
15" Enkie Racing
Bridgestone RE540's Semi slicks in 215/50/15

I haven't got pics yet, haven't got around doing it but i'll get some done soon!

LSD goes on this weekend, other 10%!

but i'll let you guys know how it goes. Tyres are a concern because they are bigger in diametre, slow me down abit cause the gearing is soo tall on this car already. When i have the money... a B18C5 will be going in!

It's not the best of tracks, but a very short semi technical. Trying to get everything perfect to get a quick time!

Quickest I've been around this track is 1:13:59 seconds in N1spec's ITR.

I'm hoping to get under 1:20 with the civic! hehehe...

Mugen, how do you like that LSD? Feel more grip? It's a worthwhile investment I'm sure, especially on the track.

My ITR was totaled! I let a friend take it for a test drive around corners!

Being addicted to track racing, i really couldn't afford doing it with an ITR, due to the monthly payments and it being a new car. So I got myself an EG which was told it was an awesome track car.

DeceitfulCivic: I wish I could tell you how it feels. It's going on this weekend but I'm sure it would be more fun to drive. All I know is that during a corner if i WOT... it won't go straight!

Mugen, are the struts ajustable on your WS's or just the springs? I have the adjustable springs and non adjustable struts, and I have been trying to find out my spring rates and the A'pexi people dont seem to know

I don't think the way it is it will give an ITR a go around a track. No power and I still need to do alot of other things. Bushings, more power, roll cage...etc

I'll take pics of her this weekend. Don't have a digital camera handy. But i'll post some up soon.

WantingaType-R, I never knew springs could be adjustable? i know of progressive springs. So you have the WS specs? (World Sports).. if you do, tell me which ones and I'll have a look in the Apexi product book and I'll let you know.

Use the Apexi GT spec series springs, much stiffer and I think it's like a direct coil type.

Apexi WS?
newspeedR on th eboard here has them on his integra.

~they are not adjustable as far as rebound/compression, but yes for height adjustable, yet the WS rear spring rates are WUSSY wuss.

I think it says A'pexi N1 WS on the Box. The compression and rebound are not adjustable, just the ride height, Like Owen said.
If I can just swap the springs for stiffer ones, that would be great, since I can't foot the bill for a more aggressive suspension at the moment.

Thanks alot

Dan

Quick question,
What is the Cusco Master Cyl. brake stopper? I wasn't aware cusco made any products regarding brakes or brake systems... I'm not even sure what a master cyl. brake stopper is for that matter
Those tires sound big, were those the smallest RE540s they make?
Good luck

Hard to explain where it goes.....

You know where the master cylinder is? should be on the right hand side for you guys. It's a brace that is mounted on the shock tower support and has a bolt running to the centre of the master cylinder. Point of this is when you apply pressure to your brake pedals, the weakness of the firewall lets the master cylinder move around in mm's which causes pressure in the brake lines to change (less pressure on the pistons). If you get someone to press the brakes and you look at the master cylinder, you will see it move around. It gives a better brake pedal feel (very solid).

I got the mechanic to see if the LSD i got off a ZC box would fit onto mine. No luck! guess I'll attack the track without an LSD!
