Listen, in order for me to help you, i have to ask you questions. CHill man...
What happened when you put the ABS fuse back in? You see, i don't like that. THat fuse should off been there when you bought it. DId the previous owner tell you why it was not there?
Was the pedal soft prior to the pad replacement?

when you install new brakes you must bleed the system all the way around. The point of having ABS is that when you slam on the brakes they DONT lock up....

Not if you have not broken the integrity on the system e.i replaced lines or calipers.

Yeah, but he states that they don't even kick in... So either he does not know how it feels when they kick in, or something else is wrong

Re: (Andres-eh2)
yesi know that......even with the fuse in the brakes don't generate enought power to make abs kick in u know what i mean?
The pedal started to feel different after we changed the pads....and with the abs fuse back in it mad no difference

Re: (Enzo)
Well, if the pedal is soft, and doesn't feel like enough pressure, than I would try a re-bleed of the brakes. That is if you opened the bleed screws or messed with the lines in any other way.
What type of brakes did you instal?

Re: (Enzo)
Enzo, i think you would be better off to get a service manual for your car. Everything is explained....
Now before we go on, what have you replaced when you did your brake job?

Re: (Enzo)
there are bleeder valves on the front and back, you need to open one at a time, and pump the brakes, then hold them, and fluid/air will come out of the lines, start in front, i forget the exact pattern, but, i would bleed the brakes for staters! and go from there
pretty sure anti lock, and conventional are bled the same way? never messed with abs...

Re: (aphex23)
A little Extra help for you..
To give you a little idea of where the valves are, you will see them right away when you get in there... at least, one would hope.. ;p
And here is the order in which you should bleed them!
hope that helps!

yeah, i mean, did you just change the pads?? You say you have a mushy brake pedal, that sounds like air in the lines to me.. but, it could really be a number of things.. so, enlighten us, what did you do to your brakes? and was it the front? the rear? or both?

Re: (aphex23)
how far do i have to turn the bleeding screws in order for the air to come out? and how will i know what screw it is? and is there anything i can screw up if i do it worng? and what tools do i need in order to do this?

Re: (Enzo)
Yes you can screw this up, like anything else in life.
Grab your buddy, the same buddy that helped you with your brake job and have him help you. THe screw sits right there on the caliper you can't miss it at all.
You don't have to open it alot, about half a turn.
Be carefull though, they may be tough to unscrew the first time...
