Default My Blown Civic SI.

Hello Everyone My name is Eric. I have a 2000 Civic Si and the block is blown. What started as a small oil leak lead to a misfire in three cylinders and eventually melted the valves on the only running cylinder and blew the rod out. I found an LS block someone said might be a .1000 of on the crank. I just need advise on if there is an easier solution. Can be more expensive than originally intended. Thank you for any advice or questions.

Buy a b16 block. With an ls block you have to get it machined to work with your head. It is a pretty big headache and not very reliable. I know someone with a good b16 block for sale, im in the chicagoland area.

Thanx how much is he looking for it and about how many miles are on it. Yeah I have heard about the running the oil line and having to put new head pins in and crap.

so were you planning to do ls/vtec or something. that would be pretty beast. i haven't seen many em1's with ls/vtec.

ls/vtec, if built correctly, can be pretty nasty. but if you want to build for boost i would just do another b16... although ls/vtec w/ boost is cool too

I just noticed you were in maryland. Im sure you can find a similar block for the same price over there, without having to ship it. Im sure he doesn't want to go through that hassle.

I just noticed he's in my town. I'd say if you wanna go NA then hit up the ls/vtec, just build it right. Or stick with the 16 and put that turbo on there
