my B18c1 burns a liter of oil a week??? how bad is that
Well my 94 civic HB b18b1, burn about a liter of oil a week or every 500KM.. but thats when I drive it hard.. like vtecing many times a day.......
how bad are my rings? will they go right away?

not good at all. Compression and leak down check that motor asap. Any visible oil leaks or oil in the cylinders? Any smoke coming out of the exhaust? I never went through more than a quart in 3000 miles in my b16 eg and I drove the **** out of that motor every day.

so what engine do u have the title says b18c1 and then u wrote u had a b18b1 and you said it burns a lot when u drive it hard like vtecing many times a day will the b18b1 is non vtec so.....

that is not that bad as long as you check your oil every couple of days. I know plenty of people who burn that much or more in all varieties of honda motors d and b series. Just check your oil regularly. ALso, don't fool your self by going to a thicker oil. From expierience I can tell you that is no good. IT turns a motor that burns a little oil into one that needs cam journal work and has a rod knock.

I met up with a buddy today who has a 92 Cx / 98 GSR motor. We raced a couple times (I blew him away both times) but I noticed that his exhaust blows smoke like crazy. Even when just normal acceleration smoke was pretty bad. He also goes through oil like gas. I guess we should do a compression / leak down test on his motor. He is getting it rebuilt within the month though.....

Are you kidding, a liter a week sounds normal?? WTF I don't F think so. **** even a quart a week is way way too much. Sounds like rings are going bad to me. Do a compression test and let us know what the results were for 1-4.

I lose about half a quart between changes and I blow quite a bit of oilish looking smoke frmo 6-8k in 1st and 2nd gear.
Anymore than a quart every 3k miles is pretty bad.

Its a B18C1, so ya it has vtec........

i have the same problem with my car..... the nos fucked up my rings. everytime i push hard you'll get lose in the puff of clouds...haha i need to get that **** fixed by the way i'm burning 1 quart a week

my jsm gsr in my si doesn't burn any if a little and no leaks either i dunno get that **** fixed...hybrids always have these kinda probs in the first couple months
