Is this my altenator? (already searched)
92 dx..stock motor with intake and exhaust. New Dizzy cap and rotor was put a year ago after a starting problem. (spark plugs and wires were changed at the same time)
Ok here's the situation: i'm driving and i see my speedo needle stops moving fluidly, it moves like it gets stuck ever 10mph. Then my car dies...only the headlights and hazards work. Cluster lights, radio, engine..gone. I wait about 30 seconds to a minute and power is back and I'm off. But lately its been getting worse and worse. Now it happens with no hesitation and can need awhole 5 minutes to get back on. I'm guessing its the altenator since it's probably the battery that has the car running for 3 minutes at a time. some1 PLEASE give some insight.

Yes it could be your alternator. Get a voltometer and put it on your battery to test the voltage, then start up the car. The voltage should raise to about 15. If it doesn't raise and or starts falling off, your alternator is bad.

You can always go to http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and look up and compare part numbers.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm waiting for my dads friend to come over whose working on our house. He has a voltmeter and knows alittle about car electricity. Anyways, I have another piece of info...When i turn on the lights of my car while its on..i hear it change idle. it sounds rougher. Also, the lights on my radio flicker with the music alot.
