Default My acceleration is hessitating

Ok I have a 96 Honda civic ex model and it doesn't keep the acceleration once it hits op. temp. The engine light is on but I no it's for the knock sensor it needs to be replaced. I have changed the timing belt, valve cover gasket and all the seals, changed the distributor cap and rotor, new plugs and plug wires I'm about to change the idler pulley,.... I'm wondering if it could be my valves or pistons cuz it wasn't doing it before my timing belt snapped while I was driving on the freeway after I put the timing belt on it started losing acceleration........does anybody have an answer cuz I don't want to run and jus start fixing whatever and not fix the problem

well if it snapped while you were at highway speed im willing to bet bent valves you can do a compression/leakdown test to figure out weather or not that's it. clean the TB while you're at it.

Yea, make sure your valves aren't bent. That's always a big possibility when a timing belt snaps. Also, have you checked the throttle cable for slack? That can be a major culprit for hesitating acceleration. Easy to fix too.

calibrate your tps it wont be faster but you will fix the throttle response pretty good

doublezero, if you aren't going to be helpful, go away. We don't need you filling threads with garbage.

OP, pull your CEL codes again to make sure that's the only code you have. While you're doing that, check your mechanical and ignition timing, and make sure your TPS is within spec.
