my ac system squeaks
it only does this when its turned on. the faster i go the faster it squeaks. even at idle its loud.
i have been told that it is the Idler pulley. anyone know how hard it is to change these out? would it be easier to try to exchange them from underneath? also where is a good place to get one cheap? i have checked ebay and majestic online. they both want over 40 bucks. its that actually reasonable for such a small pulley?

it could be that your belt is just loose and needs to be tightened up. or your belt is no good. if it is your tensioner just pull it out from the top. you will have to move the power steering pump out the way. $40 bucks is usually how much they cost. try a local parts store, they might have it cheaper.

My ac is doing the samething i got a 2000 em1 stock b16a2 all new belts i got a used ac compressor seemd to run good intell about 1kmiles now whn i start up and turn ac on it wine's bad same thing whn i hit the gas but only does it for about 20mins i adjusted the belts now im thinking maybe i need to take it off and make sure there is enuf oil in it will that make it wine?! Dont mean to jump on thread just wondern as well!

i use to have that problem on my si too, it was my ac clutch. i put on a new clutch and it's straight now. easy to change too.

thanks for the ideas. im still going to buy a idler pulley from a junk yard. i think itll be cheaper than a parts store. lol.
