Default My 93 Honda Hatchback restore thread

This is the thread for my little red wagon. First a little back ground on the car, I bought this car from a dealer in Florida called US AUTO LTD in Deerfield Beach by Alex Burs Sales-Manager. It was a total rip off/scam. The car was listed as a no damage, 65,000 original mile car. I have all the original adds, screen shots and emails back and forth with this crook. On top of completely misrepresenting the car, it took them over 6 weeks to actually ship the car to me... on 4 flat ties with a dead battery and the no brakes.

So, if you ever run into them in the web or happen to live by there, stay away.

So, anyways, I really have no choice but to restore the car. Work has started, as you can see in the pictures, it does not look quite as nice as it does in the lot pictures. There is some bad bond work on the driver rear, that I'll have to repair, of course the black fender, some body molding replacement around the windshield and the drivers door.

The OD does in fact read 69k... cause it doesn't work. I've already got a new speed sensor for the car to put in, so hope that fixes it.

The 18" rims... spray painted white... while on the car as is evident in the over spray all over the brakes etc. There is a cheap set of coil overs all the way around. I found some stock 14" rims that I need tires for and will put them on the car, still researching what struts to replace the coil over with.

The inner and outer tie rods are shot, I ordered a full set of Meyle and started to put them on today, but as it turns out the Moog steering boots do not fit. As you can see in the pictures, the part number is correct for the car, but they are way to small.

There are no brakes. Have not really even looked into why yet. Planning on just replacing all of the with new and replace the master cylinder.

The only good news is that the car does in fact run... and actually nice. no smoke or anything. I have not had a chance to drive it yet, due to the tires brakes etc, but it seems to go into gear ok. Plus the A/c works... The interior is in nice shape.

Anyways, wish me luck bringing this poor car back from the dead.

It's a hatchback, not a wagon, just for future reference.

Hopefully you didn't pay too much for that car. Given the condition, and misrepresentation, your state's AG might be able to help you.

Hatch, got it.

I have emailed my AG. I'm also opening a case with the BBB.

Sucks that a shady sales person did you dirty, good luck with it from here on out. when I bought my car the (apparently) crackhead who sold it to me told me that the rear door handles were there strictly for show and its that way so noone can steal ur kids.

looks like it could have been worse, though, since they have sold people cars that were never delivered. I promptly left them a voice mail of me farting and then burping and finally calling em unethical before hanging up.

Just looked at this (long) list:

I'm assuming you are talking about attorney general?

Yes. Also have case filed with BBB. But, know the reality that I basically got screwed and there is not much I can do about it. Except for the Odometer fraud, which the state does tend to take seriously.
