Default my 93 hatch (re)build

Well I finally decided to start a build thread. I was in the dsm scene for around 9 years and got sick of my car so I wanted to get a honda and see what all the fuss was about I picked up what I thought was a good deal on a hatch I mistakenly got one with work done to it already because I had been there done that attitude and thought I had no drive to work on a car anymore.. but I was totally wrong, and this thing was totally screwed.

It ran great for 2 days then things just fell apart all the way to the rings breaking. Its a wonder how someone makes a car run great for 2 days then all the sudden theres a puddle of oil on the ground in the morning cuz the dizzy seals blew out :/

once I started working on it seeing what was wrong I really found my car enthusiasm back and decided to start from scratch and make it mine. Im re-using some things, but I basically stripped everything down, re-painted alot of crap cleaned the **** out of everything and in the process of putting it back together again.

gonna update as I go along.

When I got it :

got the head off

no hoist at the time, so brought the motor out the bottom

no motar.. some lazy *** painted the car with the motor in..

soo I fixed that ****

lots of carb cleaner and walmart degreaser got it pretty clean

my pistons hate me:

painted the block red (looks kinda orange from the flood lights)

the guy had a bunch of parts palmy blue and the interior is black, so I had to paint these they where driving me nuts.. painted the door panels black which where also blue.

got everthing back together and put the motor back in.

this is where it sits now.. havent had time to get everything plugged back in. this week im hoping to be able to start it if I can get it back together going to the dyno next week hopefully.

motor back in its home

Dyno sheet

i know its aluminum and there no real reason for it, but I felt like it. I couldnt get it as clean as i wanted it and i didnt want to throw down money on media blasting so now it looks clean

took it to the dyno today and I was a bit surprised by the numbers he said we could of got more out of it, but the motor wouldnt handle it.

OR turbo cars with Cheap pistons tend to crack ringlands. Had my last motor tuned on the dyno 3 different times and cracked pistons 3 different times.
