Default my $10 door inserts. 92 eg

$10 for red felt material, and 3m trim adhesive.

looks like brand new now, no sags, and everything is nice and tight.

whats everyone think?

They look good.

Did you remove the door panels and drill the inserts out to lay the new fabric?

Looking for an easier way to do my new panels.

When I drilled my old inserts off I could never get them seated tight/properly.

yes i grinded the "head" of the inserts off, and took it down to bare plastic, put the fabric on and put them back on. tight as stock. however, i used some 7mm self tapping screws to hold in into the stock inserts.

it was nice that honda decided to leave the inserts with a hollow 6mm hole that a self tapper could screw into.

Thanks for the reply.

I'll have to pull my panels and look at them.

Did you follow a guide or just did it on your own?

no guide to follow, simple, takes about 30 mins to an hour for each panel, depending on how you want to do it. if you were in the area, i would do it for cheap for you.

now i just need to find some rsx seats that are black with red inserts to match the doors.

I know how to do it all so I would never pay anyone to do it... I've done it multiple times but I'm just wondering where I went wrong because I don't see where to put self tapping screws. The whole panel seems pretty thin.

you could also use a large c clamp to hold everything tight, and epoxy it back together on the areas where you drill out the inserts.
