So i got a question my friend has a ek hatch & has a JDM b18c gsr in his car all stock but blew his head gasket due to having stock exhaust... but was wondering if its better to jst replacing the head gasket to OEM or getting a mugen head gasket?

Blew the headgasket becuase of stock exhuast!? Why do I doubt this....

Mugen is very expensive, OEM will do just fine.

Well me & him were on our way KC for ifo with other friends & we raced on the turn pike..
we were going 70 dwnshifted to 3rd & i guess he accelerated & he heard kinda like a knocking noise & it was smoking ..but there was no holes in the block ..nor oil so he thinks its the head gasket & he wanted to knw if it would be better to get jst the OEM one or mugen one.. he thinks maybe because he having stock exhaust is also another reason it blew. Hes turn on the car & it jst makes an awful knocking noise like if its bogging out..motor struggling..

Is it possible for you to post a video?

I can't see how the stock exhuast would play any roll in the headgasket blowing.
I also don't think knocking is headgasket related.

Do a compression test.

Sounds to me like a rod knock, spun rod bearing. Don't start it again until you pull the oil pan off and inspect bearings

more likely a rod knock like everyone else said. time to pull the pan instead of wasting time to pull off the head

He said Its the gasket cuz if it was a shot rod and everything there would be a hole in my block and water all inside my oil. Guy from hmotors told me its not anything big probably just the gasket and definetly the exhaust can play a role in it. It causes build up and loss of power. The engine got too hot and ****ed up the head gasket. If it was a rod the motor wouldn't even wanna start the starter would just make noise.

Thats called a broken rod. A spun rod bearing makes the same clunking noise as you described, it just hasn't broken free yet to put a hole in your block. Start with checking your oil for coolant and your coolant for oil, if neither are contaminated drop your oil pan and collect your bearing pieces.

spun rod BEARING, not a bad rod. you can still drive with a spun bearing, not advise cause it could do more harm, but you can if you have to in a emergency.

I'm not even going to bother to comment on the rest of your post since a couple of guys already have (and they're right, you've most likely got a spun rod bearing

But I will comment on that last line. An engine will run will start and run with a broken rod, although obviously it wont run well being down a cylinder or long with absolutely no oil pressure.

Yeah, don't listen to anything that guy said. More internal EGR will make the engine run cooler.

Don't buy jack **** till you know what it is you need. The only thing you should buy are tools to do the repair and disassembly, and more beer.

Well it could be any number of things. There's a reason there's no "mechanic phone tech support."
