Muffler area rattle
About 2.5 months ago on my 96 EX, I swapped out my entire catalytic converter all the way back for a OEM DX exhaust. Ever since then I have had a rattle coming from very close to where the muffler sits. I thought that maybe something was loose inside the muffler so I swapped my old muffler back on, but the rattle remains. The thing is, you can only hear the rattle between 2-3k RPM under 1/4 throttle or more. I've got new hangars to try next, but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or has any advice....

you swapped a EX to a DX muffler???? does it sounds like a TIN can when you drive if so its just the muffler that is raspy if you get what i am trying to say

Nothing is raspy 
IIRC They are the same diameter muffler...But I said that I swapped back to my original which didn't rattle when my factory exhaust was on...So it's somehting that is not the muffler....

Perhaps your heat shield under your car is hitting on the exhaust piping.. Happens to me when I hit really bumpy roads in my civic. Or the fitment isn't quite how it was originally with the factory exhaust.. When you re-install something, the fitment won't be exactly the same.

yeah im having this same problem too.... i swapped in a new header and cat, they were a little longer as a combo, and the extra stress on the exhaust system, makde the hangers tight, made the muffler hit the bumper, and hit a heatshield too...it souded like ayass and transferred alot of vibes to the passenger compartment.
just check it out all the way around and see if its touching, or close to touching anything down there.
