Default Best Muffler for 98 Civic

I was looking to get a muffler for my car, and I was wondering what the best muffler on the market was? Any requests?

And what is the average price for a full exhaust system.

Thanks

The Apexi N-1 cat back ranges to $200(if you're lucky)-500. they are really great, they are a bit on the loud side, and here's a pic.

HKS In my op. is one of the best.. if you want a deep tone, and a slightly higher note top end the Hi-power HKS muffler with 2 inch, w/resonator is tight.

Take your time when choosing an exhaust and be careful taking other people's opinion. Not everyone likes the same sound in an exhaust and not everyone has the same definition of loud. I currently have a magnaflow cat back and it is very loud to me. It is actually a little embarrassing. It performs well on the top end, but ****-poor on the bottom end and very little change in the midrange. Problem is, in a daily driver, you spend most of your time going back and forth between low-end and mid-range. Also, it isn't as loud as an Apexi N-1.

I've had the magnaflow on the car less than 3 weeks and it will be gone by middle of next week. I have an RSR Ex-mag on the way. The apexi world sport is another very good choice for the daily driver. Moderate power gains, and low noise.

So ask yourself. Is noise a factor? Do you want race exhaust (magnaflow, es-oval, apexi n-1) or a street exhaust (rsr ex-mag, apexi world sport, gredo sp, etc.). Is your car a daily driver? Do you want the shiny bling-bling look, or stealth stock look?

* I basically defined the race exhaust as anything straight-thru. They perform great on the top end and may be good choices for turbo, but not a good choice for a daily driver (IMHO).

My tanabe racing med. has been perfect for over 3 years now...sounds great; very quiet in low rpm's and has a very nice deep tone at higher rpm's...

I just got my Tanabe Hyper Madalion the other day.. and i LOVE IT!!! i use to have a Tenzo R Type 2 but it got messed up from all the bumps. This one sits much higher and sounds really good. not loud.. has a low dry sporty tone to it... VERY GOOD!
