I just installed a sohc vtec head and intake on a cx...the swap is done and everything is cool except vtec...i'm not using the vtec ecu so I got a Msd Rpm activated switch and the relay...if anyone out there is using this set up for vtec activation...lemme know please....this thing won't work...I know the msd unit sends a ground thats why i got the relay to switch it to 12v....but it's not sending crap not even a ground when i remove the relay....I got it hooked up to a light to see if it's working........can someone help out.....

is it a window swithc or just an rpm activated switch? i think the rpm activated switch is just a momentary switch kinda like a horn button its on when u push it and off when u don't cept its on whrn the set rpm is hit and off the rest of the time. i think u need a window switch which will stay on when u hit the selected rpm and than shut off at another set rpm. i'm not 100% sure on this but this is how i thought they worked.

Well, ok, if you engage your vtec this way, I think you will end up with a really lean fuel mix. When an ecu that controls vtec engages vtec, it also changes the fuel curve to compensate for the extra air that the engine is getting. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong…

You and sohc boy is wrong...I figured it out ...thanks anyways man......changing the fuel pressure regulator onto the car increases fuel pressure needed for the vtec ....etc etc etc
