MSD Cap Application
Does anyone know which MSD cap will fit a 99 Civic EX (D16Y8)?
I contacted MSD and they said that they do not make on specifically for that car, but there is probably one that will fit for another vehicle.
Any guru's out there?

Re: MSD Cap Application (FyReo3)
Just modify one! That's what I did for my 00. I bought one from Honda, with a new rotor it was only $30 for both. I got the power tower adapter from MSD and drilled out the coil tower and put the power tower on. Cut a small slot in the bottom of the cap to run the two wires from MSD in too. Piece of cake ;-)

A friend of mine has the same car as I do. He ordered what he thought would be the right cap, which is probably what you are talking about, and it did not fit. I think it was up to a 98.
Geeez.....why do things have to be so complicated!

Not trying to jack your thread or anything, but I'm curious, what set up are you guys running that requires MSD?

MSD SCI+Digital......timing retard with a 30-40 hp nitrous hit and adjustable staging rev limiter.
And because I got it for free....

Re: MSD Cap Application (Marauder)
Ahhhh, nitrous, I see why.
I've seen a growing trend of N/A cars using MSD, Crane, etc, but I can't understand why, as the factory Honda system is sufficient.

Re: MSD Cap Application (rodrez)
The only complaint I have with the MSD box is sometimes when I start the car, the tach signal is major screwed up. Its only the MSD box where its messed up since the tach, which is wired to the MSD, the needle bounces all over the place and averages like 2-3 times higher than the actual dash tach reading. Killing the car and restarting fixes it....but still it shouldn't do that. I'm going to have to call them and see WTF is going on!
If I had a NA car, I would leave the stock ignition, unless it used nitrous....On Wednesday my car goes back on the dyno for the Turbo mag article, and since the last pulls, the only real changes were ignition, so we can see what difference it makes!

Re: MSD Cap Application (rodrez)
No problem on the post jacking.
I am running about 10psi with VAFC/450's.
Already blown a headgasket, got BTM for retard and complete combustion.
