Hey y'all.

A little about me and the car:
I've lurked for a while and owned the car for a couple years now. When I first bought the car I was in a tight spot financially and it was hit 3 times in the first few months I owned it (a truck backed into it and drove up onto the hood, a friend backed into it right after I replaced the front bumper and a deer ran into the driver fender/door). After all that I got sentimentally attached to the car and determined to breathe new life into it, however I've put off much of the planned build to get the money together.
Now I am ready to get the project rolling and wanted to share the build with others and have a place to ask questions.


My goal for the car is to initially be a daily driver and to keep long term.
Some of the work is already complete since I have owned the car a couple years although I may have some old in-progress pictures I can post.


My rough plans:

1. Mechanical.
   1. Rebuild b16a2 -- I already had a shop replace the head gasket however I think the block needs work since a 6 month old yonaka exhaust sounds like it has quarters vibrating in the muffler at certain rpms. I will probably outsource this portion due to my inexperience but I am open to doing it myself.
   2. Add a turbo.
   3. Tune.
   4. Install HO Alternator
2. Paint and body.
   1. The car will stay black but be resprayed and have damage repaired -- I will outsource (tedious amount of hail dmg to repair and other damage already mentioned).
   2. New wheels/tires.
   3. New CF hood since current one has clear coat chipping off. Thinking spoon but open to suggestions.

Already In Progress or Complete:

1. Electronics. This is my bread and butter.
   1. PC and sound -- I am forgoing a head unit for an 7" double din touch screen windows pc. New speakers and sub in the trunk.
      1. build pc
      2. configure touch screen and pc for car use
      3. install read deck and door speakers/speaker wire
      4. cut mdf to bolt down pc, amps and sub in trunk
      5. Rearview backup camera/gps mirror monitor
      6. glow gauges
2. Interior
   1. New carpet
   2. GSR front seats (ek pan swapped)
   3. Reupholster rear bench, door panels, and center console in black leather/vinyl
   4. sound deadening -- this was complete but I decided to re-do it. Initially I had just cut smaller pieces and didn't replace oem mats. I'm going to pull up oem and cover as much of the pan as I can.
3. Alarm/remote start/keyless entry
4. Routine Maintenance and other work
   1. Headgasket replaced, new water pump and gsr cams installed
   2. New rad and hoses
   3. Hid kit
   4. replace sunroof drain tubing
   5. spark plugs and wires
   6. im gasket
   7. skunk 2 camber kit (old cambers were damaged in hydro plane)
   8. new tires

The next steps:
Work has me scheduled on for the next 9 days so I won't be working on the car until the weekend of the 8th. I'll see what I can get to on this list:

• finish reupholstering rear bench
• replace headlights and tail lights
• troubleshoot exhaust rattle

Holy ****. Someone who knows how to structure a build log.

I've been helping my dad reupholster some bucket seats for a classic car. What a pain in the ***. Hopefully you're taking pictures and doing writeups.
