Default mounting b series to a engine stand

so i grabbed up a engine stand for my honda build to make things easiter on myself...well the problem that i have noticed is that the bolts that go to the trans are too short...i saw online something for the d series to use a longer set of bolts but thats not happening for me...no hardware place has the bolts i need...does anyone have any input on this...should i saw down the holes down on the arms just a bit to accomodate this problem or what...

Wow I LITERALLY just got an engine stand and was going to put my B16A block on it tomorrow. I didn't even think of that.

In for answer.

holy ****! did you try google to see if you can find them or even maybe a place that works on hondas? maybe someone like benson would know since they build engines.. thats way to much for 4 bolts ... dont know if this will help but worth a try...

try finding ready-rod with that thread, then build your own bolts, if that isnt available, go to a boneyard and try to find similiar ones, maybe the lower strut mounting bolts off some import? worst case use undersided bolts and a nut on the other end of the tranny.. (kind of sketchy but it'll do

I used bolts from home depot and just got them long enough to put a nut on the other side. My block has been on a stand for months now with no problems.

Alright guys, its not that hard... use the bolts you would normally use to bolt the tranny on! I had to make adapters for my engine stand, they are ~6" long peices of steel square tubing with holes in each end.. not sure if you need to do that on all engine stands.

The tranny bolts are 3 3/4" too short for that stand I am trying to use.

Hard to say if all NAPA stores carry them. Call around and ask.

The NAPA I got my bolts from is also a machine shop and they carry a lot of odds and ends that a "regular" NAPA my not have.

I went to lowes and got a bolt that was a little smaller than the non threaded holes and then got washers and nuts... I had it like that for months while getting my car re painted
