Default mounting afc controllers

Who has an Apex afc? I got a v-afc and was wondering where you guys mounted yours. I have a 98 ex coupe, so there are not many good places to mount it. I was thinking either in the glove box or just above the cup holders, what do you guys think?

Yeah, that's the clip that comes with it..just shaved and cut all to hell in the approx. shape of the rear view mirror holder. It uses the same bolt holes(just longer bolts) that hold up the rear view mirror. Everything else can be obtained at an electronics store that sells connectors. Basically, just be creative and put the 11 wires in the right pins and you're set. I've actually seen a guy on this board install one into his visor, but can't find the thread. And yes, the Apexi wire bundle will reach to the top of the rear view( no extra wire was needed).

i put mine in the glovebox and just leave the glovebox open when i drive around. close it up when i park the car somewhere. not the prettiest or most unique position, but it works for me.

If I were to put it in my armrest, does anyone have a suggestion about what to use to make a housing for it. I dont want it just sitting in there. Some sort of plastic that could be cut to fit? Will the wiring that is included reach back to the armrest? What do you guys think about cutting out some of the plastic above the cup holder to fit the vafc, too obvious? I appreciate the suggestions.

a couple suggestions: put it directly underneath the center console (where the power outlet is at), or the panel where the cupholders are at, in the glovebox, on top of the dash, on top of the steering column (but may black the view of the speedo)...

I put mine sitting on the ashtray in my 5th gen. I just put some velcro along the top and it works awesome. Cant see the top or bottom of it, and no wires. Fits like a glove.
