which motor would you go with?
Ok, I have the option of two decent motors, both with less than 100k on them. First is a 88-91 b16 complete swap for $850 and the other is a 90-93 b17 gsr motor for $850. Now, give me your opinions on what I should put in my eg. Thanks in advance! Also, if one is a bigger pain in the ***, let me know.

the b16 is a 1st gen therefore cable tranny, and only 160 ps, the one for 92-95 is a sir2 b16, 170 ps w/ hydro tranny, you'll need to convert that b16 into a hydro tranny, im not sure about that b17 though

my friend has a 92 gsr, b17. That motor just seems like it has a better top end than a 96-00 si, maybe just cause the car is lighter. The cam change is more dramatic IMO than an H22. B17

B17...
1) USDM
2) Replacing USDM parts are cheaper than JDM parts
...is this going in your 99 EX?...I believe wiring is easier with an OBD1 (B17), than the OBD0 (B16). And I've also heard that it is illegal to an egine in your car if the engine is older than your car.

Actually, I think that B16 parts would be easier to come buy than B17. Also, JDM and USDM parts are for the most part backwards compatible......especially when it comes to the B16A motor seeing how it was offered in a DelSol and a 99-00 Civic Si.
