Motor will fire up and immediately die, Tach and Speedo flutter
Ok, I just swapped a 98 gsr into my 94 vx. Obd1 p72 and using obd2 engine harness. Yesterday was the first day to actually get to drive it and I had no problems. I put on a total of 116 miles on the motor yesterday. I took it out today for the first time to go get lunch. I let it warm up and then started driving. I have been keeping the rpms low and shifting before 5k. I got on it a little bit and after letting off the gas to start slowing down it dies. I pull of the road and try to crank it. It will start up and immediately die. It did this for about 7-8 attempts. The speedo and tach needles are bouncing around while trying to start it. So I give up and call someone to come and get me. After getting off the phone with them I decided to try one more time. This all happened with in ten minutes. It fires up on the first try, so I drive it home. The tach is still bouncing around but the speedo seems to have stopped. No check engine light at all when this happened. I get home shut it done and start it up again no problems other than the tach bouncing.
I am not sure where to start trouble shooting on this one so I am here asking for ideas.

I will check because I did have issues getting that one to snap on all the way. Ok I was thinking of the CKF sensor but it appears from what I have read that Obd1 doesn't read that sensor?
From reading similar issues resulted from the VSS or the dizzy but it didn't seem in any of those cases that the motor actually died and wouldn't start.

Yea my Mazda is acting up right now won't start so replaced crank sensor and nope but gonna get the cam shaft sensor I think n hopefully it should be good. Try all the sensors that have to do with the ignition source and stuff like that

I knew it would be some thing stupid, like a ground wire was loose.
175 miles no problems!!!
Good luck with the Mazda, may you problems be as simple as mine!
