Default Need help, swap for civic si

My buddy has a 97 civic SI, he has a pretty good line up for a 1990 b18 . He is looking to complete a full motor build for ls/vtec. Will this motor be fine for this?

They have different models in Canada

Location Kingston ON Canada

What exact motors are they? b18 can be a variety of motor but most likely its a b18a

Its b18a, he was gonna convert to obd1 any way. The only reason he is considering this one is because some guy offered it to him for 60 bux. I mean why pay 850 for the obd1 and do a complete rebuild when he can save the 290 and but that into the build. So there is no concern with this? just get the skunk 2 harness adapter and obd0 computer?

I wouldnt go with an obd0 ECU. If he's doing ls/vtec than all he is gonna use the the b18a block, most of the obd sensors are located on the head so just make it and obd2 and then convert it to obd1 or whatever you like

oh right, so I suppose you dont have to worry about it. Its the head that is obd0 and where not gonna use it, just get the second gen obd 1 or 2 b16 head.

90 ls block is too old...since he has a 97...he should get a 97-99 b18b1..it'll be less hassle for whomever is doing the swap.
