motor smoking

Default motor smoking



well all of the sudden my motor started to smoke like 3 months ago and now is getting even worst I get alot of blow by I can small drops of oil from the valve cover fitting what does that means ? oil rings are shoot ?

99 ek with a gsr motor

how to tell the diff from this ? if it is the valve seal or the piston ring ? my motor had never been spray ed or turbo ed

well what color smoke ?

and yeah it could be piston rings valve seals or you could have even melted a valve.

Do a compression test and a leakdown test. From those two you will have a much better understanding of what is going on.

Valve seals would cause more of a puff of smoke at start up, after the car sat over night or for a long period of time. But with oil coming up from the valve cover then it's the rings...

oww well the smoke will be visible during hard driving like 6k+ I will see the smoke on my rear view mirror
