You just identified your problem. That and your buddy shouldn't have messed with ANYTHING on the VAFC(junk) while the car was running. Slap him next time you see him and ask him if his mother taught him "if its not yours, don't touch". If your injectors ended up dumping fuel into the engine, that would explain the fouled/burnt plugs, and it could have washed down the cylinders, creating your "tick". Thats just a guess, but find out as much as you can about what the car is doing before proceeding with more questions.
And no, the rear or downstream O2 is just there to monitor catalyst efficiency, and really doesn't have much to do with adjusting fuel trims.

Re: motor problems (King V)
the problem is with the VAFC junk it or sell it to a newbie, find someone to chip your ecu if you need it and tune it for you.

Re: motor problems (King V)
i was guessing that the tick is coming from the rod or main bearings but i dont want to tear into the motor without being sure if that is the problem. and the one wire o2 sensor will not affect my car from performing properly. and when i rev it high my cel comes on and it redlines at 6000 i was wondering what could be the problem to that but if i shut the car off and turn it back on the cel goes off and the car runs fine till i rev it high again
