motor laying in garage untouched for 3 years still good???

ok my cousin got a b16a2 bottom block that was rebuilt with all new oem parts like pistons, rings, rods, and bearings and before he took it out it had no more than 5,000 miles on it. the thing is that he took off the head and sold it already and all he got was the bottom block that has been laying in his garage for over 3 years untouched. will the bottom block still be good or is it bad? he is going to sell it to me for hella cheap so i just wanted to ask here before i do a 3 hour drive just to pick it up.

***b16a2 fresly rebuilt laying in the garage untouched but wrapped up for over 3 years is it still good or bad?

wind it over to see if it is siezed(19mm and rachet) will be the only thing. condensation will sometimes rust out the sleeves and that won't be good for your rings.

like they said at the worst some surface rust and new rings. Nothing that cant be fixed for little money.

Fogging oil would have eliminated any risk of having a seized engine...
Spray it in until the engine stalls and you're good.

if the head is off already then just crank it by hand and check out the sleeves if theyre all good then your set slap a head on there and try it out

If you wanna do it right, pull the pistons, take a drill and hone the cylinders. replace the piston rings put it together and close it up. use oil or some other lube when you hone it and again when you put it back together. put a head on it and then it can sit some more. anybody who told you just crank it and its cool hasn't seen what three years can do to exposed metal. do it right or suffer the consequences.

At least you won't have to worry about reliability that way cuz you know it's really good
