if you are referring to the JDM version. it would come out of a 88-91 Civic/CRX. people simply put the 1 on the end to denote that it is a generation 1 engine. this is not the way to do so. So all in all it will be a B16A.

'89-92 European Civic 1.6i-VT (EE9)/CRX 1.6i-VT (EE8). It had 148hp DIN (150ps/110kW) @ 7600 RPM and 106 lb-ft (144 Nm) @ 7100 RPM.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by miahjera04 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">a non jdm b16a was in a del sol si (94-97)</TD></TR></TABLE>
It was actually the del Sol VTEC (EG2), not the del Sol Si (EH6).

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by slambedcivic &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">wrong, that would be a B16A3</TD></TR></TABLE>
The del Sol VTEC had the B16A3 only in '94-95. For '96-97, the engine was stamped B16A2. Thus, the USDM OBD-1 B16A was a B16A3, and the USDM OBD-2 B16A was a B16A2. These engine stamps could also be found in European markets.

Well think again, because engines exist that were stamped "B16A1."

Not even close

All of these engines are different in some way:

B16A 1st-gen
B16A 2nd-gen OBD-1
B16A 2nd-gen OBD-2
B16A1
B16A3
B16A2
B16B
