Re: motegi racing wheels/ good or bad? (hothatch)
the motegi is actually a good at a very nice price.
I have them on my civic and the roads here arent the best.
but they continue to hold nicely....

They're a subsidary of American Racing. I think some of the Motegi Racing wheels are sold under the AR name at Sears.

I don't know weight-wise about MOTEGI wheels, but look-wise they are nice. My friend got 17's with Dunlop rubber, (I think), on his '00 Prelude, powdercoated in a gunmetal finish. They look nice, but remind me too much of cheap Konig rims. Get yourself a set of those new white or silver VOLK RACING "Rays" rims. They look sweet on Civics, and are also lightweight.

Motegi wheels are definitely some of the heavier wheels available in their respective size and market. Their 17's weigh around 24-27lbs, depending on which wheel you get...pretty heavy. Motegi's are made by American Racing. You can wait till the Motegi Ro_Ja line comes out. Those are forged and pretty light. their 17" F5R Ro_Ja is only 14.5lbs for 17x7...that's about the weight of a Volk TE-37!! And their 18" and 19" are pretty light for their size also. I'm not a big fan of their designs...and they're just too heavy for my taste. However, if you like the designs and don't mind the heft of the wheels, then they should be a fine choice.
