Tension timing belt
Is there a way for me to tension my timing belt without taking off the covers? Its getting really loose now after 16K miles.

Re: Tension timing belt
When you loosen the bolt, the tensioner spring + rotating the cam 3 teeth will provide the required amount of tension on the timing belt...then re-tighten the bolt.

Re: Tension timing belt
there's a hole in the lower cover for a 14mm
take off the top at least so you can be sure you tightened it properly, it takes all of 5 min with a 10mm

97 EX, Built D16YZ (Y8Block/Z6 head). I know its loose because I pulled the cover off the other day when I pulled off my valve cover to change the gasket. And its pretty damn loose. Actually scary how loose it is. I'm not sure how it got this loose but now I need to fix it. I have both the top and bottom cover on.
