MORE VAFC2 HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well here it goes...
I looked and looked and came across this pic.
It shows that my 92 civic hb CX model uses the H3-a Harness
Witch is
My wiring harness does not have the VTM signal (car is running ericks racing ecu and is not throwing a code) so i guess I do not need it. Anyway I reset the ecu and connect everything back up and turn the key over. Nope the vafc2 does not work..wont even turn on. So I said **** it..I am gonna try and start it. So she starts Feels like its running on 2 cylinders and the check engine light is on. I turn it off very fast. I got back down and checked all my wires.. Anyone know what could be the prob??? Am I using the right diagram.???? HELP ME... thanks

dont run your car with a vafc hooked up and not set. if its not getting power check the grounds,(note: there are 2 ground and must be in correct order.) and power. that is all you need to power a vafc up.

Okay,
Just checked vafc and it works fine.
Now I dont understand what I did wrong. I did it just like it said to.. Now on that 2nd pic i posted it is shows the ecu harness with the clips on top correct? Also where it says to cut the wire with the X that does not mean I connect them back together, I just add my vafc2 line to each side. Then where it shows the dots I splice into the line with it staying connected to the wire as one. Correct?

Re: (918-Hatch)
this will be hard to explain about the X thing i think ur talking about its not hard the wire coming to the ECU that looks like ------------- X .--------------- all u do is cut that wire where the x is and connec the blue wire for the VAFC to the side going into the ecu. the wiring harness side of that wire does nothing has no wire coming to it... the other two(----------. X .------------) u cut where X is and run the wires it tells u to each side they dont touch cuz what its doing is coming in from the ecu and going in to the VAFC then back out in the sensors or the other way around i really dont care to get corrected. as for it not turning on thats only dealing with ur positive and negative... two positives two negatives it really matters what order u put them on the line and they should be at least a 1/2 inch apart to on the line to make sure they dont touch.... like for ground it should be
|ECU| --- BROWN SPLICE -------- BLACK SPLICE ---------------------------------------
somin like that
Ive put these in all to much and if one of the + - wires isnt tight enough it just wont turn on... just put the + and - wires on right, make sure their right, wrap them in electrical tap, heat shirnks, or solder or whatever and turn the key to ACC or what not to see if it comes on. even press on the wires to make sure their tight. Then if the VAFC comes on then work on the other wires but be more concentrated about positive and negative right now.

Re: (ncskate)
So you are saying this.
For instance. The Vtec silonoid signal I need to cut the wire, that is coming from the harness to the ECU and wire the pink side to the harness side going up and way under the dash, then wire the purple wire coming from the vafc2 to the wire connected to the harness clips close to the ECU. Is this correct? Let me know anyone. Thanks

Re: (918-Hatch)
Okay in the pic below The power and the ground are on the right side of the first plug on the left. if im looking at the harness plug when i wire it up and go to plug it in the wires are on the left side of the ecu... I am thinking hmm maybe thats wrong. So I tested it the way I had it.. DONT WORK. So then I switch ends with the wires and it still does not work.. ANY IDEA???????????? I feel like a dumb ****!!!

Re: (918-Hatch)
Are you crimping or soldering?
If you swear you have all the wires right then make sure that there either crimped correctly, or that you soldered a good amount of wire from both sides.
I installed 3 of these so far and its all straight forward i never had a problem.

Re: (918-Hatch)
You said you tried to start the car when it was connected and it ran like **** (go figure)
Take off the VAFC2 completely, make sure that you didnt mess up anything from running with with yoru wires tapped. Start the car and make sure idle is correct.
Make sure that the Orange Wire is to the ecu and the red is to the firewall. Give them a good finger to 2 finger gap space.
Check again to make sure the brown is damn near touching the ecu, give it like a mm or 2 space appart. And then for the blk make sure its a good 2 finger space away from the brown.
After you hook those 4 up again, turn the key to the ON possition to see if there getting power before you continue. If the VAFC doesnt turn on then theres a serious problem somewhere. Also make sure your tapping into the correct 26P connector.
This is all OBD1 i hope, what motor is it?
