Default More Tire Stuff

I think I've finally narrowed it down.

Tell me what you guys think of these tires:

Kumho 205/40ZR-16 $75
or
Toyo 205/40R-16 $70

Without research, I assume the "Z" would mean the tire is Z rated. So it's high performance. Not sure what the rating on the Toyo is.

So I would choose Kumho.

P.S. If you got a G6 Civic (96-00) 205/45/16 is the right size for you.

hell, the kumho's last forever, and have no traction whatsoever, hell they alsmost have as much wet traction as they do dry traction. Which toyo are you refering to? How bout the azenis in a size like 215/45/60? Now those things have some great grip, guess it all boils down to what you're looking for.

Well it just so happens that I do have a G6 civic

You say 205/45R16 are the right size for it... I did see some Toyos in that size for $85 but I didn't know that would be a better size. Does it make that much of a difference?

I also saw some Nitto 555's for $90 but everyone on this board seems to think they are junk. My brother has them and swears by them. Oh well

I know that Toyo T1-S's have a treadware of 400 but are considered by a lot of people to be very grippy.

The difference between 205/45/16 and 205/40/16 will be about 3.6% This would mean an error on your speedo and odo as you roll.

I assume those are kuhmo 712's? I'm running them happily without treadwear probs. I have no experience with the Toyos, not sure which ones you are reffering to. I do think that the kuhmos make a great daily driving tire, not the greatest dry handling in the world but really good wet weather traction. I see it as a plus down here where it rains one inch and suddenly there is three inches of water on every street
I've also have run the azemis for a short time, couldn't tell you bout the treadwear, but they were better it seemed tractionwise. But I'm not an autocrosser and couldn''t give you hardcore data on that...
I say kuhmos, just because I plan on buying em again.

They are right about Kuhmos , Yeah they last forever but they suck in the traction department . Me I am fixing to get rid of mine for some Bridgestone Potenza or GSD's not sure if they are good or not but we will soon find out , Got me a chance to get some free ones with plenty of tread left

I'll assume you guys that bash Kuhmos used them, so thats cool. IMO go with the Kuhmos good life and good traction, dry only and don't drag launch on them.
