More Swapping questions... D15B7 for D16Z6
Okay, I have read enough on here about swaps to know I can get the ecu working by running wires for the Vtec to engage, and that this will be an extremely easy swap, all things combined. My questions are as follows:
Should I chip my ECU first, for whatever gains that will get me?
What are those gains?
Is the z6 tranny (comlete z6 swap is out of an EX) better than the tranny on my B7?
I understand 3rd gear is a little long in the z6. I will be pulling the tranny on the z6 to change out the clutch, so if they can/need to be swapped, it can be done easily enough.
Also, are the drive shafts the same? (just replaced one side on my B7, if it will work, I'll just replace the other side and have a new set.)
What compression ratio will I possibly gain having the z6 head shaved .01? .015?
Will a Y8 metal head gasket get me any more compression in the z6 than the standard z6 head gasket? (Everything I have read says the metal one is better, I am simply trying to get an idea of how much compression change I am going to get out of all things combined).
From everything else I have read it should be down right simple, for one mechanically inclined. Thanks for the input.

no you should not, no gains on stock motor.

z6 tranny > b7
z6/y8 has shortest gears of all sohcs
