more power out of a b16
i have a b16 hatch and i was wondering what you guys think i should do...im sure there were other posts about this but i was wondering whether i should go turbo, b20 vtec, ls vtec, or just build the **** out of the motor i have (valves, springs. cams etc...) give me your opinions of reliability, power, and price. thanks.

SEARCH THE FAQ THREAD....man. SEARCH THE SEARCH FUNCTION FOR GOD SAKE....its an epidemic. BTW....B16 = no torque....
EDIT: Yes I am in a bad mood. For the B16 the best way to get quick power is a turbo kit. It seems to work for all my friends. They still have trouble with my B20/Vtec though....

obviously a bigger motor is ganna be faster, and you CAN feel a difference. somepeople are satisfied with a built b16 and can have alot of fun with it. check your funds y0!

Well you have to decide if you want NA or FI. If you want FI, go turbo. If you want NA, build it up.
B16 is great with turbo ... people talk alot of **** about the b16, but it's a good engine. It also does okay NA .. UnsungEM1 ran 14.4's in his Si, with a full interior ... had some bolt ons and CTR cams.

its easy to get around 280whp out of a stock internal B16A with F.I., building it would probably put you around 180-190whp depending on how you build it, and that would probably cost just as much, if not more than putting a turbo on there. most of the people on this site seem to dislike the B16A because of its lack of torque, but i think it's just all personal preference.
