Default More JDM B16 in 92 Si questions.

Ya, I know.. Its annoying. I searched all over here, google, CSi, and a few others but didn't get the info I need.

So, its a 92Si.. We've got the motor, axles, linkage, and P30 ECU. I was told on here that everything will just plug in. I've since learned that the knock sensor will need to be wired up to D3 but thats all.

The thing that has me curious is that all the wiring on the motor seems to be backwards compared to the USDM one. Once the motor is in, should all the plugs reach? If not, wich ones do I have to extend? I want it setup so that when I drop the motor in I can just plug it all in and everything will hopefully work.

Where is the knock sensor? There's two sensors on the back under the IM (right by the oil filter) that look like one of them could be that.. Is it? Is there only one wire for the knock sensor?

Do I have to extend all the wires on the plugs for it to plug in properly or am I just looking at things wrong?

Also, whats the sensor on the 4th runner on the IM? (B16) I was noticing that the Z6 does not have this.

Any info would be greatly appriciated.
Thank you.

for the wire harness..your gonna have 2 options...take the harness apart and re wrap all the plugs to where they are supposed to reach..or do what i did..send it to placeracing.com and thye will do it and send it back to you real fast

the knock sensor is a large plug(green or brown base i forget)..i think it has 2 wires going to it

i dont know what your talking about for he last question..but i highly recommend you have your wireharness professionally redone ..it will make plug and play alot easier

what the hell does this have to do with anything?

the p30 is what comes with a jdm b16...there is no need for a chipped p28 when the motor is stock..plus right now he is trying to get everything worked out to ease installation...the ecu he has is just as good as a p28

actually the p30 is a better unchipped ecu because its for a b16a... also.. if you car is an Si, you can use the engine harness off your D16Z6 motor. its already wired for vtec, and it plugs right on to the motor. you have to extend the O2 wire and i think thats it. i did the same swap about 4 yrs ago with the civic harness, I had no problems

Ya, the reason for the P30 is just to have the proper ECU for the motor, it just seems like the right thing to do.

So do I have to extend all the wires on the plugs so they will reach? I can see that everything plugs in no problem, but everything is on the wrong side of the car..

I'll update with pics of exactly what I'm talking about tommorow.

no need for pics..the reason everything seems like it wont reach is because it wont..in japan the cars are right hand drive meaning the driver sits on the passanger side and drives...which means everything under the hood on the firewall is opposite also..the battery, fuse box are on your cars driver side and the brake mbooster and master cylinder are where the battery and fuse box are....if i were you id do what B16B said..use the wire harness from the motor you took out..it plugs right in and is allready usdm not jdm..just extend the 02 sensor and your good to go

if you use the d16 harness you need to add a wire for the knock sensor...this is a biatch because the wire needs to be shielded and not in a place that has excessive heat or radio noise....

you will get a cel if its not hooked up right or starts trippen out because of a signal...

if you run a chipped ecu, most of the programs dont look for Knock, so i wonld worry about it if you are going to end up chipping it anyways
