More ECU questions.
I've searched, but cannot find what I need.
First, all the OBD2 ECUs I've seen online have only 3 of the 4 plug recepticles full of pins. The 4th is just empty. My P2E I got in a trade has pins in all 4. Would this just mean it was meant to be used on any year OBD2 Civic? The numbers on the tag read:
37820-P2E-338
1451-105678 OC20
Second, is about the *circuit board* diagram on a P28, P06 or some similar OBD1 ECU. If anyone has one, I'd very much appreciate it if you could post it, PM it to me, or refer to it to answer my question. Even a picture of a 5 speed P28 would be great. I have a P28 for an automatic transmission vehicle. At IC 13 through IC 16 on the circuit board, there are a total of 4- 5151S chips. If you buy a conversion kit for, say a P06 to make it a P28, it only includes one of said chips. Would I be right to assume that the other 3 are just for something involving the automatic transmission, and can simply be removed and recycled for the VTEC conversion instead of spending like $10 a buy another, or destroying a good OBD2 ecu to obtain these? If this is the case, I can get ECUs for about $50 from the junkyard and make them P28s for about $1 or less in parts.
