more aggresive camshaft....
I got a GSR in my civic. When i bought it from a friend, he had a set of civic type r cams put into it. A few weeks after getting the car i was told by a friend of mine that the GSR cams were more aggressive than the civic type r camshafts. I figured he was bs'in becuz its a type r. but now that i think about it, a civic type r motor was a b16 right? are the stock gsr cams more aggressive than the civic type r cams that came from a b16? i figured not but it couldnt hurt to ask.

It was a b16b i believe, had around 200hp too? I would take those cams over a gsr with 180hp. Yes displacement and c/r+stroke makes these numbers, but i would think the b16b are more agressive than gsr cams.

the b16b cams are the most agressive profile out of all the stock cams. i think the ITR exhaust cam is larger then the CTR exhaust, but the CTR intake is larger then the ITR. That is why alot of people like to run CTR intake and ITR exhaust mismatch. they are nothing compared to a skunk 2 pro 1 though... they will still run on stock valvetrain.

Thanks for the clairification, but i think the only diff between the ctr and itr cams is the ctr intake being a little bigger profile, i thought the exhausts are the same.

yea.. the exhaust might be the same... which is why i think the CTR cams are the most aggressive OEM cams available.

ok i figured the type r cams were more aggressive. i just needed clairification on it. The car seems to have a problem with its idle though. It jumps from like 1390 to like 1500 at idle. Like a real bad lope from a a real agressive cam. This didnt happen till i replaced the intake manifold gasket. I figured it was a vaccum leak somewhere. The iac is new and i unplugged it and it didnt do anything the motor idled exactly the same.
