Moonroof help on 94 Civic Coupe. *images*
water is leaking through the moonroof on my civic. Below are a few pics. Descriptions are above the pictures.
Driver side looks ok as it is pretty flat with the body.
Passenger side doesnt go all the way down like on the driver side.
Another shot from the passenger side
Passenger side gap between the body and moonroof.
Closer look at the gap on the passenger side.
Photo taken from driver side. More gap.
When a day of rain, the water leak from this spot.
After inspections, i think i found the reason. On the passenger side, the moonroof is missing a spring to the black bracket. Pictures below.
Spring connected to the black bracket on the driver side.
Spring missing from on the passenger side.
How do i fix this? Can i buy that spring and put it back in place? What do you call that spring? Is this an easy fix?
Thanks in advance.

you should be able to buy that spring and install it. Check out www.estore.honda.com they have the part diagrams and stuff thatll help you find that spring, or ask NOFX

Yes, you can buy that piece from Honda.
I don't know if it will help though.
The pan that goes around your moonroof should be containing any water that makes it past the moonroof seal unless it's a whole lot of water. How much water is coming down the windshield? Often when there is a leak in the car and therefore standing water, you will see streaks down the front window from the water condensing on the roof skin and sliding down the glass.
I'd drop the headliner and see if you can get any better ideas just to be sure.
Sorry I'm not an expert on 5th gens, so I don't know the assembly like I know the 6th gen one.

If rains for 4 hours or more, the water will drips down the headliner onto the driver's seat.
If i pull the headliner down a bit, the standing water will pour down. The amount is about 1 shot glass.
Is there an instruction on removing the headliner? i have the haynes book and they dont cover this.
Thanks for the help NOFX. I really appreciated.
Same to z6hatchboy.

I don't think its the spring bud. Mines broken on the passenger side too and yet my moonroof closes all the way. Can you push the sunroof down? Maybe your rail is bent or perhaps something is caught between the folding arm that pulls the top down.
