Default Mod my LS or go with a B20Z (BUDGET IN MIND)

I just got my LS swap about a month ago and i like it. BUT there is always the question about more power. I am a BIG fan of TORQUE. I love to yank people off the line. My LS is good at yanking B16 hatch'd and Teg GSR's and just killing the Si coupes.

The guy who did my swap recommended that i just get a GSR or Si tranny and get a chipped ECU and of course the bolt on's. He ran that setup and hit nice mid to low 14's on street tires.

What do you guys think...money is a BIG concern for me and if i got the B20Z then a lot of things will be on hold for a while. because i look at the cost of getting the B20Z would be more then modding my LS.

You guys decide

Hey, I;m in the same boat as you man, only I want to swap out my B18B and get a GSR. I think you should keep the LS for now and either decide to mod it or save the money and get something better then a B20, like a GSR you would be much happier. I decided to stick with my LS, I'm gonna boost it or give her vtec

keep the LS 'til you decide what you REALLY want later safely with some $$...

but that's just what I would do...

Stick with the LS and boost. Why spend the money to get a new engine that could be a lemon or you have more troubles with.

I say get the b20 and then sell the ls to cover up some of the costs. I had an ls and it was ok but I always wanted a b20

im probobaly going to be in the sameboat as you sometime soon and i think im gonna keep the LS transmission for the longer gear ratios and turbo that mother, that would be fast as hell but costly

i like my LS a lot, BUT dont expect to hang in the top end. its quick but i am happy i didnt spend the money on a b16a. no offense but i love my b18

good idea, but i think everyone with an LS motor already contemplated about boosting it. i decided that i want to try an all motor route before i go with any kind of boost.
