when did you change the plugs? Is it just a stock 99 si?

just pull one out and see if its fouled, if not then its not ur problem. It could also be injectors or fuel filter. Run some injector cleaner (I recommend techron) in there.

true, it could easily be the wires. Get some NGK wires for replacement. I ordered mine on amazon for $42.

i checked my plugs and it looks like its new.. im thinkin either 02 sensor, fuel filter, or spark plug wires? i also heard from some friends that the o2 absolutly does not affect the way the car runs? is that true

similar problem here (https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-misc-15/b16-eg6-starts-fine-runs-good-cold-very-hard-start-bogs-when-hot-2460867/) except mine runs decent when its cold and sputters and bogs when warmed up, seemed fine this morning after it was fully warmed up but after i turned it off it started actin up again.

i read up on a old thread and the guy happend to have a bad coolant temp sensor, something easy to check on yours. seems like a o2 or a sensor problem. something minor for both of us. my **** runs perfect cold so must be a sensor.

Bump for i'm having the same problem and haven't been able to figure this **** out!!

This is the stupid little sensor right below the distributor correct? if it is i've read that at cold its suppose to read 2.5 - 4.5 volts also for the Intake air temp!!

Well mine is reading without the car started just ke turned 16.7 volts and the IAT is at 4.9 volts which is correct, so what's up with this **** can someone confirm this..........

check distributor rotor cap for spark leakage or replace it. mine was leaking and there were weak spark, hard cold start and poor acceleration. mil code for O2 sensor is from random cylinder misfire.

some how my car has weak starting and sputters so maybe its the distributer cap.. but also does it only when the cars motor is warm

bump for 8083ctman... duno if this is gona help but ill throw my word in there considering we both have similar issues and there seems to be a few others out there.

if it starts up good cold you know for sure the fuel system is good, plugs and wires are good, most likely spark is ok but i would recomend testing the coil and ignitor with a ohm/volt meter to be for sure, tps is good because it doesnt even rev past 2.5-3k with a bad or off set tps, map is good(wont even start with bad map).. pretty much leaves it to be either your o2, coolant temp, or ecu. i could of left something out but that pretty much covers it. i think the iacv, knock sensor, and intake air temp sensor would all be ok because it runs good cold and doesnt throw any cel's

my hatch seems to be worse... it will start right up and run perfect when its cold but once it warms up it starts to sputter and bog very bad, also very hard to get started again.

yep the coolant temp sensor is right under the dizzy on the left side of the head... i know you can check it with a volt meter to see if its ok but im not sure on the specs. i can take a look in the helm manual tomarrow... do you have a volt/ohm meter so you can test the dizzy and sensors? if not you can buy one for pretty cheap and they come in handy when you run into problems like the both of us. im going to test my distributor and sensors with the ohm meter tomarrow so hopefully i find out the problem.

If it runs fine when it's cold but not when it's warm it's most likely a problem related to the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor. Since it starts just fine cold you know that you're getting the correct spark, fuel, and air. Essentially what's happening is once the car warms up the sensor is reading incorrectly, causing you to get the improper amount of fuel whether it be too little or too much.

What CEL are you getting? Too rich/lean? Misfire?
