Default missed shift-hit limiter, then black smoke! help

yesterday driving down the street being a jackass i decided to take off in a hurry to catch up to traffic, well as i reved my motor to 8200rpm i missed my shift going into 2nd and banged the motor off the limiter at 9400rpm . anyways i shifted into second after that i noticed out the back a nice bit of black smoke coming out of my exhaust. just happened for a few seconds then went away. car has been fine since. i check my comp, today everything is normal, plugs and everything looks and drive fine. my question is, did i possible just get a dump of fuel at the rev limiter and when i went to drive it burned off?
specs: b18c1, skunk2 chipped p72 (no fuel cut, 9400rpm rev limiter). i am thinking dump of fuel since i have no fuel cut. whats your opinion on what happened?

when i bought my LS the previous owner ran direct ported nitrious. my piston rings were pretty bad. when i reved high black smoke would come out of my exhaust and my mechanic told me that it might be because of my piston rings. so check on your rings because they might be bad. my stock motor was pretty fucked up and other things couldve caused the black smoke but im just lettin you know..

well u would think that if it was rings there would be a more consistand patern of smoke, not just once then never again, plus my compression would show something, and it didnt. i am pretty sure it was just a dump of fuel burning off.

Running rich, many cars from the factory run a little rich. I've seen black smoke on high rpm shifts. Bright white sweet smelling smoke isn't oil, it's coolant.

Blue = Oil
White = Coolant
Black = Fuel

its not a problem. Ever watch 240's drift? Remember when you hear turbo spool in mid drift, then BOV, then woof woof woof consecutively (Sorry for such a cheesy explanation, but its in laymens). Anyway, they are banging the rev limiter, just be happy its there its saves you from blowing the motor.
