I Tried a ton of diffrent plugs in the past month in my Z6, the ones i have tried are. Autolite Double Platnum,Bosch Platnum +2,E3 Diamond tip,autolite copper,motorcraft coppers and Bosch platnum +4's. and let me tell you it seems like these dam platnums work well for 120 miles than has random miss fires and is verry annoying.


I paid 7.99 EACH for these E3 Diamond tip plugs their performance plugs but my friend said he sees me trying all these plugs and he said i cant go wrong with these and these are the best for me. i loved them for 1 week and 200 miles. then random miss fires. and those aren't platnum.


To me i recroment to EVERYBODY Autolite Copper Plugs 1.39 each and will perform the best.




I just wanna know why am i having these problems??? Is it normal because i have a old engine and platnums are for newer cars?

First off, i would NEVER run any of those plugs in my car. You need to run NGK plugs. Go to Advance Auto and pick up a set of NGK plugs. They're $1.98 a plug.

yeah, doesn't sound like it's plugs. you've tried all of these and none fixed the problem. the logical conclusion: your issue is unrelated to the plugs.

i agree you should run nothing other than NGK or Denso plugs in any honda. these are the brands intended for these cars.

so why the missfire? if you're truely having a missfire, you should have a code stored in the ECU. you need to start there. it should indicate a specific cylinder or cylinders. rule things out with testing and measurements, one at a time. "troubleshooting" tends to be less expensive in the end than "throwing parts at it."

I agree with hondamark35. Also, Autolites are for Fords and Bosch Platinums typically are utilized in European applications. I hope your friend doesn't work for Pep Boys or something and trying to upsell you. Regardless, definately check your ECU and investigate your codes.

I am going to come out and say something that will stir some ****. I ran a ton of diff plugs since I got my car in 93 ngk, bosch, autolite, and even splitfire ( hell they where all the rage in the early 90's). I never had a plug last for more then a few 1000 miles before the car started coughing and running ruff. Every plug I pulled out showed signs of arcing from the ceramic to the nut. Bosch at some point came out with the platinum +4 I stuck them in and never had a problem with the plugs failing again I am now on the 3rd set with over 230k on the engine. I have also put these in cars before and had them run like crap. some times it is just trial and error to find a pug that works

NGK has a few grades of plugs

NGK Copper - $1.99
NGK V-Power (Copper plug with V-cut in electrode) - $1.99 (What I run)
NGK G-Power (entry level platinum plug ($2.29)
NGK Iridium - $6.99
NGK Laser Platinum - $9.99

Run either of the NGK coppers.

Bosch plugs can go jump in a Fram oil filter and together jump in a fire, because they both suck.
