misfire problem, need help!!!
im new to the site some one told me to try you guys on here because every person i ask cant answer my problem. i have a 97 civic with a rebuild b18c the problem i am having is when i start my car it has a misfire and when you drive the car it fells like i am driving a d series again so something is not right. you cant tell that it has a misfire while driving its just really slow. so here is the thing i have compression fuel and spark in all cylinders so i started to pull one wire at a time to see how the car would run and cylinder 1,3,and 4 made the car about die when i pulled them, but cylinder 2 doesnt make it run any different so now i know it has something to do with that cylinder. so i rechecked the compression fuel and spark and i have it all. i am so lost on this and never had a problem like it so any help would be great. i do have type r cams in the car but will that make any different it what it is doing and if it did why dont it do it in all cylinders. just please let me know if you have had this happen to you or know how to fix it thanks

What do your plugs and piston tops look like for each cylinder - look down the plug hole and report back with condition, color of plug and piston top.

the plugs are new and still look new no color at all and the piston tops have just a little build up (black on top) on them

Ok, doesn't completely rule out a blown head gasket but that is good news. I was thinking maybe a slight leakage into the cylinder and thus the misfire...

If the #'s are the same wet and dry I would suspect the valves. Have you rechecked the valve lash? If its within specs then I would suspect valves that are not seating correctly. You may want to do a leak down test on each cylinder, especially the one low on compression.
No coolant in your oil or excessive "bubbles" in your coolant (if the above does not yeild anything you may want to do a pressure check on your coolant system to rule out a bad head gasket)?
