Default minor problems with b16 93 coupe

just picked up a 93 coupe with a b16. For some reason when i run it hard (over 80 mph) it throws a check engine light. Another problem im having is the reverse lights not working. I checked the fuse, and replaced the bulb. I also have the speedometer not working sometimes, it works when it wants to basically more times than not it works though. And when i start the car, i usually get a little idle from 1-2.5k but someone said that you just need the car to warm up. Any ideas what the problem might be with some of these things?

so your saying your tail lights don't work at all or just the reverse lights, that idle at the start is normal as long as it isn't goin above 1.5k, i don't know what to say about speedo you probly just have a bad connection somewhere, check at the speed sensor that would be my first guess, i don't know about the cel, does it have any relation to the rpm or just that speed,

BTW im runnin the same setup as you 93 coupe w/ b16 what ecu are you running, how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking do you have any pics

the brake lights work, the reverse lights dont though. Usually when i run it hard i never hit redline but really close, idk about the speedo, something with the transmission someone told me that if you have a hydraulic tranny since it doesnt run through cables you would need to change the cluster but idk..

Try a new Speed sensor-i was having the same issues with the speedo and check engine light and a new VSS fixed the issues. This was in a 95 Civic w/JDM B16.

no im not sure, if i had to know i would have to open up the ecu box right?
i pretty much just bought it without even looking at the engine too closely which was a bad idea, but it hasnt given me major problems yet knock on wood, just the minor ones i stated.
