Default MiniMe Swap D16Y8 head D15B8 Block how to???

I'll be mounting the new head shortly and I currently have a D16Y8 Head, and a D15B8 Block *92 with 4 valve reliefs* and need to keep OBD1, What do I do about the Dizzy?

what you can do is cut the obd2 dizzy clip and then cut the obd1 off and rewire it..that should work

No it isn't "all over the friggen site" Douchebag, Very little documentation on putting a Y8 head on a B8 Block, Thanks for the help...

EJ1, I am very familiar with that document, thats for a Z6 Head on a B7 Block, and doesn't help me.

Has anyone every tried to cut the old Dizzy clips like that? I'd assume it works too, but I'm concerned that their will be diffrent color coding for the wires.

Awsome, so I can just reuse my Origional CX/DX Dizzy.

Any idea about the Headgasket? I have a 3 layer metal headgasket, can I pull the middle layer like I've read about?

yea as long as your dx dizzy is obd1.

and IMO i would just go out and spend the money for a new head gasket instead of fiddeling with the old one so you KNOW your gettin a good seal with the head

I'm sorry, the NEW headgasket that is going on the car is a 3 layer metal headgasket, Can I pull the middle layer like I've read about.

Also, I've been told I can reuse the Honda head bolts as they are hardened, Is it like this on all models?

i don't know never did but IMO i would just get a new one cuz you don't know what could happen wit that like you could do it and find out you have a leak in the head gasket...know what i mean?

and as far as i know they are haven't heard ne diffrent

If you do a search for Dans Massive Mini Me or something like that, I made a full write-up on putting a Y8 head on a B8 block, but it has ended in a failure more or less.
*edit*

Here's the link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2147115

I popped the headgasket twice and could never get the timing right.

I STRONGLY recommend using a Z6 head rather than a Y8 at this point in time, and a dizzy is the distributor, When you purchase a Z6 head, you will need a Z6 intake manifold, throttle body, distributor, ECU, and wiring harness if possible, although its not hard to wire Vtec and the O2 sensor if you are half-way skilled in wiring.

jeeze, i should have just made a big write up.... ok here's the shortened version on how to do what you are planning to do........... buy the headgasket for your the head. when the head is off take the oil diverter plug out of the block (between the two middle cylinders, comes out easy with needle nose pliers) while the head and timing belt are off change the water pump and timing belt.. before you put the head on set #1 cyl. to TDC. make sure everything is clean put head on. idc what anyone says about reusing the b8 head bolts, i did and nothing went wrong because of it. they will work. i had the intake manifold installed on the head before putting it on to make it easier. i also blocked and looped a lot of coolant lines. now if you can find one or have acess to one, find a obd 1 ex/si harness so you dont have to wire anything. now my car was a 92 (no pass. airbag) and was a canada model so vtec was already wired into the engine bay from factory. thus using the ex harness on my motor made the mini me "plug and play". no splicing needed. you will need to use a z6 distributor. i used a gsr throttle body on mine so i needed a different throttle cable. you should be fine with yours. ok so now your almost ready to put your valve cover on, but first take the 20 mins and set your valve lash. its worth it just do it. with everything done, (check for loose bolts and stuff that forgot to plug in) put the valve cover on with your new gasket and grommets. if you have any other questions send me a pm. and if you want a bad *** mini me set up i got one for sale

*edit.* .. here's my baller *** setup ... head/intake combo is still for sale..
