Default Mini Me y8 intake manifold questions.

Search is down so if someone could help me out it would be most appricated.

Im running a d16y8 intake mani on a jdm d15b head (z6) with a d15b8 block.

I had to disassemble the motor because we broke a bolt in the cam shaft , I was wondering if I can just take off the oil catch can since it wasnt hooked up to anything on the y8 intake manifold, or maybe I was making a mistake and it needs to be hooked up.

Do you have anything running from the PCV up into the manifold? On the front of the plenum is a large port pointing forward, usually a breather hose comes up from the back of the block through the middle 2 runners and plugs into that nipple. Since the catch can is part of the crankcase vent system it should be between those lines somewhere...

Dude, what are you talking about??? The PCV is the positive crankcase ventilation valve...it costs like $2 and is not electrical, nothing plugs into it but hoses. Some Civics have them on the valve cover, some have them in a black ventilation box under the intake manifold. Pretty much all cars have one. The crankcase has to be vented, the valve tries to keep oil vapors from going into the manifold. But it doesnt work that well, that's why they make catch cans...

Ah yes, that thing! Yeah, none of that garbage!
Anyhow, somehow the catch can goes between the crankcase breather port and the manifold port which is about 4" or so from the throttle cable bracket.
