Mini-me ? w/ a twist
i have a 2000 civic dx (d16y7 i think) after making the desision to stay with the d-series i am looking jg engine dynamics head package. my question is: can i get the vtec d16y8 head instead of the non-vtec d16y7 and do a mini-me swap? i have heard that there might be a valve and piston clearance problem but i think i might have been miss informed. oh by the way would i be screwed for e-check with a pro series head?
thanks for your help ahead of time!

i think you would have no problems with swapin gthe heads you just have to either wire in v tec or ( easyer) find a vtec harness at a junk yard from a ex. and a vtec ecu ( forgot the code p28?)

Re: Mini-me ? w/ a twist (flip b18b)
I could be wrong about D-series ****...but I KNOW for b-series there is more than just "swapping the heads and wiring in VTEC" For B-series, there is a whole ordeal of relocating dowel pins, tapping and plugging the oil passage through the head and running an external oil feed. And THEN, once you have finished all the actual hard work, you can "run a VTEC wire"
